NorthWestern Energy goes live with CrewManager

NorthWestern Energy is live on the CrewManager work planning and scheduling software as of March 15, 2010. Thirty schedulers are scheduling crews in Montana using CrewManager. 250 NWE personnel are slated to use CrewManager, first in Montana Distribution operations, then in South Dakota. CrewManager will be used for all distribution expense and capital work, electric and gas transmission, and any other work performed by retail operations resources.

NWE purchased CrewManager on December 4, 2009, and implementation commenced on December 15. The successful implementation, taking only three months, is due in large part to a very organized and concerted plan and effort by the NWE teams in Construction, Operations, and IT, working in conjunction with CrewManager implementation staff. CrewManager has been integrated with NWE's enterprise system, SAP, using the CrewManager Integration Module.

NorthWestern Energy is an investor-owned utility and one of the largest providers of electricity and natural gas in the northwest quadrant of the United States, serving approximately 656,000 customers: 392,600 electric and 263,700 natural gas, in Montana, South Dakota and Nebraska. The electric system serves 297 communities covering two-thirds of Montana, eastern South Dakota, and Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming. NWE's natural gas system serves 169 communities in Montana, South Dakota and central Nebraska.
