Pradeep Batra |

Stan Sugimoto |
In 1982, Stan co-founded Unique Business Systems. The basic plan
for the company was to provide software products based on the
emerging IBM Personal Computer technology. With Stan as the
techno-visionary, UBS introduced several innovative improvements
to the standard equipment rental and point-of-sale software
available at that time. Easier to use software, color screens,
and fast multi-user access to key decision making data made UBS’
solutions No. 1 in their respective markets. Stan is responsible
for UBS’ focus on emerging technologies for business
applications. This has allowed UBS’ products to lead the market
with solutions based on contemporary technology, while
leveraging the domain expertise harnessed over two decades.
Stan’s vision is evident in R2 and GigNext, where contemporary
technology has been leveraged to leapfrog solutions into the
next era. Prior to UBS, Stan worked for Atlantic Richfield for 7
years in several financial and analytical positions. Stan
graduated from the University of California, at Berkeley in 1974
with a Bachelors degree in Biophysics. In 1978 he received a MBA
from The Andersen School, UCLA. His area of specialization at
the UCLA Graduate School of Management was Accounting and
Computer Information Systems.

Sanjay Bargotra |
|
With 15 years of software development experience
and 11 years with Unique Business Systems, Sanjay is UBS’ best
and brightest. He has risen to Director of IS in Unique Business
Systems leading the development of several successful products
in the Inventory Management and Rental markets.
He is the architect of R2. And he has also been
in-charge of the development of R2 since its inception. He has
designed R2 to be flexible to facilitate new business
requirements and to take advantage of the latest technology.
Looking to provide a flexible and scaleable business solution,
Sanjay made the decision to use Java to write R2. This will
enable true e-commerce and long term flexibility for R2
customers. Initially, Oracle database was chosen for it’s
scalability and vendor support, allowing companies to grow with
R2.
As Director of IS and off Shore R&D, he has
increased a team of developers from 12 to over 30 employees.
Prior to R2, he designed Unique Business Systems’ POS
applications that are all now number one in their respective
industries.
